Wow, I feel way too mellow to be writing about such a fucking awesome day. The trip to NYC completely rocked. We (me, Val, Todd, and Jeff) couldn't have asked for a better day. Well, maybe some of us could've, but then again some of us suck at having fun, too. But we won't get into that because this is going to be a happy entry. I had fun, I had fun, I had fun... The train into the city went smootly, and we found Rockefeller Center without a problem, mostly thanks to our NYC expert (taviol110). We checked out the NBC studios to see where we'd have to go later, and the guy said lines didn't really form until around 5:00, so Val and I figured we'd show up around 4:00. To kill time we got a really great lunch at Houlihan's, messed around in Toys 'R' Us, checked out TRL, and browsed the Virgin Records Megastore. Val and I separated from Jeff and Todd and got in line for Last Call, suprised that there was already about 35 people in front of us. The line behind us quickly grew, so we called Todd and Jeff to tell them to get their asses in line. Around 5:30 they started moving people around and stuff and separating people into all these different lines. Well, to make a long and not very interesting story short, after lost of shuffling and unnecessary confusion let's just say Val and I somehow ended up in the very front row. I don't know how we manage these things, but we're just incredibly amazing like that. Val, Laura, and Sugarcult were just meant to be together. We didn't get to sit with Jeff and Todd, and I guess they had an obstructed view, so that sucked for them, but Val and I were still sittin' pretty.
So the show was better than I expected. It's sort of gay that they tell you how to clap and cheer and stuff, but that's also kind of amusing. Some Mulroney actor that I still don't really know who he is came out first, and his interview was kind of fake and boring. An NBA player came out next, his name escapes me, I hate professional basketball, but he was actually pretty good. Carson and him got along well. A comedian came on after him.and I thought he was pretty damn funny. I laughed my ass off, and not all totally because I was hoping to get on camera either. hehe When Sugarcult was ready to go on they had us go right to the front of the stage, which we were MORE than happy to do. The band looked really nervous and shaky and didn't really play like themselves, but they were excellent and amazing and wonderful and allmydreamscometrue as always. They played two songs: their cover of "I Wanna Be Sedated" and of course, "Pretty Girl." I'm not really sure why they played a cover instead of one of their own songs, but whatever, it worked. They could stand up on stage and play "I'm A Little Tea Pot" and I would probably love it. I know I loved being inches away from Marko when he played. I'm always stuck on Airin's side of the stage. Amazingly after their too short set I caught one of the drum sticks! It would've been perfect if it had been Ben's. I really miss him. I thought for sure he'd be there for that... Ben come back!!
Anyway, we moved pretty quickly to get back to the train and it was a loooong train ride home just cause it was longer for some retarded reason that it just takes longer to get back. and that people suck at having fun and being nice. Alright, I guess now I'm going to bed because I have lots of annoying shit to do tomorrow before I can go night skiing with Maureen, Todd, and Ben.
By the way, the Last Call episode airs Friday, January 17th so watch and look for me!!

And, yes, I'm in a strikeout mood tonight. I haven't used strikeout regularly in years upon years. I think I may start again.

Don't worry about our seats (not like you were or anything...lol) It's your band...I'm glad you got to be in the front row! :) The people behind us had shittier seats...they had to look at the backs of our heads AND the fat camera guy :P

Sounds like you had an awesome time. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Like you said, it is a shame it wasn't Ben's stickity. Hopefully, he gets back soon.

But uh, yes, I will look for you and point at the screen and say 'HEY THATS THE GIRLS WHOS LJ I COMMENTED IN' and then I will continually like the screen and pet it, oh yes.

So who was in Ben's place? Kenny still?

Yeah, I don't know who that is, but it was the same guy I saw play in Boston on 12/11.
