So, yeah, wow... 2009 is hours away from being over and I've failed at blogging. Well, since I last posted at the beginning of the month, a few things of note happened that I probably would've blogged about had the last few weeks of the year not been a whirlwind.

1) I graduated nursing school with a 3.98 GPA! I am going to miss all of my classmates terribly, but I am happy to not have piles and piles of work to do. Now I can focus on some rejuvenating from this stressful year, studying for my boards, and finding a job.
2) I schedule my NCLEX test date for January.
3) I had a wonderful Christmas. Thank you to bergeronprocess, wyldegrey, firynze, wordsleadmeon, lyndasty, fredericks, stargazr324, alicetheowl, and crooked for the holiday cards! And thank you to msdillydally and allwhowander121 for the v-gifts! And lastly, thanks to all my friends I was able to celebrate in with in person this year, and for understanding that this holiday was more frugal that usual.
4) My mom is in the hospital again, and now we're discussing palliative care and hospice. I think the end is near. We have a family meeting on Monday.
5) I had my 100th trapeze class. (Yes, I'm a huge nerd and keep track.)
6) I had a fantastic day trip to Boston with two of my classmates, Judie and Marguerite, and their children to take a class at TSNY and go to the Museum of Science. We went to the Harry Potter exhibit and it was fantastic! foreverseenstar, we totally need to go back when it's not a zoo!
7) I saw "Sherlock Holmes" which was completely awesome! It was totally bromantic between Watson and Holmes and I saw so much of the House/Wilson relationship there. I already know I want to own it on DVD. I also saw Brothers with athena2483 which was good but horribly depressing. I left feeling tortured, beaten and numb. Much like I did when I saw "Brokeback Mountain"... never seeing a Jake Gyllenhaal movie in the theater again.
8) I got a job interview! It's at UConn Health Center, and I think it's pretty preliminary, and they probably called a bunch of people in, but it's something!

I'm pretty excited and hopeful about 2010. This year has been really hard, and not having a job yet has been stressful. Now that I've graduated it really hurts because I'm not a student anymore, I'm just plain old unemployed. But even though it might be rough at first, I'm pretty confident that 2010 is going to be filled with exciting new beginnings. I just got The Happiness Project so I'm hoping that will help me set some good goals for the new year. Hope you all have a safe and happy celebration tonight, and I'll see you next year! Later, skaterz.

FYI, Gretchen Rubin has been blogging over the past year on Slate and her own blog: http://www.happiness-project.com/

Haven't read much of her stuff, just remember seeing it on Slate's front page.
