I hate packing.

This is my obligatory post to further delay one of my most dreaded tasks, packing. I hatehatehate it. I always wind up forgetting something and bringing tons of things I don't need. I just hate travel. I like going new places, I just hate getting there. Our plane for Vegas leaves at 6AM and I hope it's on time because our layover in Texas is only 50 minutes. Yikes! Yeah, so I need to be up and moving by like 3AM, so I'm thinking I just might not go to bed... which might be a bad idea. Or it might be the only way I'll ever finish packing my suitcase. Which I have yet to drag out of my closet. I should probably find some caffeine.

I have a headache and my nose hurts. On Sunday I sort of fell flat on my face, landing almost directly on my nose, from an impressive height, and it's kind of been sore since then. I think the headache might be related. Or the headache might be from the hellish day of work I had. I'm leaving everything in a bit of a clusterfuck but I kind of don't care. I'm so overdue for a vacation at this point. I think when I come back I might even be able to not be a heinous bitch 24/7 (sorry, foreverseenstar).

EB is bringing his laptop, but I probably won't be online much or checking my flist if I am. Probably just sign on often enough to clean out my inbox so it doesn't like explode by Sunday night. I'll turn on twitter updates so feel free to keep me up to date on any important or epic goings on. We're seeing three Cirque du Soleil shows while we're out there and have some nice dinner reservations, but other than that I plan to spend the rest of my time by the pool or at the spa/fitness center. Or playing Star Wars slots.

I'm hoping to finish the last book I have in progress, Pandora's Daughter, while I'm out there. It's kind of horrible. I mean, the plot is pretty decent but the author can't write for shit. And I really don't think that's just because I've recently been spoiled by the literary expertise of Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, and Peter David either. Persuasion was pretty good, but I think I still liked Pride & Prejudice better. It started off really slow, but I did kind of fall in love with it by the end. Need a break from Austen, but when I go back I think I'll give Emma a shot. (Did you know "Clueless" was based on it?!) I also just finished reading Peter David's latest, Tigerheart which was absolutely delightful. It was a really fun, witty, and amusing read. It was definitely a nice change of pace for things. It's a Peter Pan pastiche, and the way it's written is so clever. The narrator is just talking to you, like someone telling a story offhand. Very brilliant, and I definitely recommend it. So yeah, I'm up to 13 for the year, so I'm definitely still on schedule to make 20 by the end of 2008.

Hey, so did anyone else notice that Amazon now has a universal wishlist?! You can add things from any site! (You know, so now you can include the 10% of crap in the universe not already sold on Amazon...) Anyway, I think it's fantastic and something I've been dreaming about and wishing for (har har) for years now. But yeah, speaking of wish lists... a certain someone's birthday (mine) is coming up soon (20 days) so if you feel the need to purchase gifts for the aforementioned holiday, my Amazon wish list might be a good place to visit. Just saying. ;)

Okay, I really should start thinking about packing. Enjoy the rest of your work week and I'll talk to you Sunday! Later, skaterz.

I make packing lists and I still manage to forget things and have to awkwardly get to a store to buy toothpaste or girl supplies or whatever. Every time, without fail.

When we went to Shore Leave I forgot a strapless bra and foreverseenstar had to alter hers to fit me.

Good luck with packing! I always pack way too much and I try to fix that the next trip and it never works.

Yeah, I'm already thinking I packed more than I needed. I also could've easily fit everything in one suitcase, but I had a panic attack thinking that my luggage would be lost so I put my most precious items (my shoes!) in a carry-on.

We are! Going to that tomorrow. O is tonight and Saturday is Mystere. We have like kick-ass seats for every single show, and one of those couches for Zumanity. I'm so excited.

Which Cirque shows are you seeing? I am so jealous! Are you going to see Phantom? If you get the chance, for like lunch or something, you should eat at SPice Market Buffet in Planet Hollywood. It's absolutely amazing to have a mile of really good food divided up by country.

O, Zumanity and Mystere. I'm so excited! Not going to see Phantom since our schedule is so booked. I'll have to keep Spice Market in mind. Thanks for the tip!

eeks, I'm having headaches all the time lately... I guess it's the weather, but it's really annoying :/

Persuasion & Pride & Prejucide are both good books, but
Emma is just dreadfully boring... I really had to fight myself through that book xD
I read 5/6 Jane Austen Books in April lol. All except Mansfield Park, because it was kinda boring & then I watched the movie being only halfway through the book & therefore knew how it was going to end & had no motivation whatsoever to finish reading it xD

Headaches are the suck.

Maybe I won't read Emma... lol. I read all my Jane Austen on www.dailylit.com so there's not too much of a selection there anyway. Mostly classics. :)

lol I couldn't read whole books online... & I love having books xD There are these penguin editions of classics that only cost 3.10€ & most of my Jane Austen books are like that ^^
