The weather is getting better by the hour.

There are way too movies out right now that I want to see and not enough time to see them. A list, mostly for my own reference. Though, maybe you can tell me that some of them aren't worth seeing and then I can knock them off my list...

1. Sweeney Todd
2. The Golden Compass
3. National Treasure: Book of Secrets
4. August Rush
5. Juno
6. Atonement
7. P.S. I Love You (okay... I'm really torn on this, I hate Hilary Swank but I love JDM!)
8. Grace Is Gone
9. 27 Dresses

Some of those I may have already missed the boat on, but at least if I write them down maybe I'll remember to rent them.  Should be seeing Sweeney Todd this weekend... it's the only one I absolutely refuse to compromise on.  I will see that in the theater.

Picked up the dog tonight from my mom's because they had to take her to the ER because her potassium levels were high.  That's how it started with my dad but unfortunately I'm sure she'll be fine.  It's just... a pain.  Hopefully she and the aide aren't stuck at the hospital all night and hopefully the aide will call if she needs something.  I need this like a hole in my head right now.

My dad's apartment is all cleaned out now.  We brought my grandmother's antique hutch over to Georgine's for safe keeping tonight (thank you everyone for helping!) and she gave me cookies and delicious brownies.  Half of which are now gone.

We had a group lunch today and we went to a tapas bar.  I got a vegetarian burrito that was like the size of my head so naturally I took most of it home.  I went to go have some tonight and I got really worried because there were some unidentifiable chewy bits in it.  Terrified that it was beef, I made Eddie and foreverseenstar try it.  They were both convinced that it was indeed meat.  I called up the restaurant and they assured me it was just soy.  AMAZING!  Two meat eaters and a vegetarian fooled.  That is an impressive!  See.. sometimes you can't even tell the difference, so everyone should go veg!

I'm pretty excited that it's midnight and I can go to bed and just chill out and read. It's been a rough few days.  Goal for tomorrow: be a productive member of society.  Later, skaterz.

EDIT:  Dudes, WTF, Ashleigh Aston-Moore died of a heroin overdose last Monday.  Wow... that sucks. :(

THE GOLDEN COMPASS NOT WORTH SEEING. Especially if you're expecting something out of it. Heh I want to watch 1,5,6,7,9 on your list :D

I've heard very divided things about Golden Compass. I feel like at this point it will probably wind up waiting for DVD anyway. I would much rather see Sweeney, Atonement, and National Treasure over that movie.

Ooh would like to hear the other side.

Well fine, maybe it's okay as a children's movie but definitely not as an adaptation.

I hadn't spoken to Ashleigh before she died. The last time I talked to her was a few years ago when she mentioned she was doing some production work on a film. She was in AA with my mom (and later went back out drinking and using) and babysat me for years. She'll be missed<333

I didn't know you knew her. It's so sad when lives are taken too young. :(

Yeah, she moved to the Richmond/Vancouver area and stayed here. She was THE coolest babysitter ever. She had a ton of tattoos, told great stories and basically let myself and my friend Kayla do whatever we wanted. I adored her.

:( :( :( :(

You're not that much younger than she was... I bet she was an awesome babysitter. :)

Yeah, that's what hit me the hardest. She was only 26, I believe, possibly 27. My friend Kayla was a bit younger than I was, maybe 2 or 3 years younger. We really looked up to Ashleigh when she looked after us and I thought she was SO frigging cool.

Well, I'm going to see Sweeney Todd as soon as it comes out. Atonement I might end up waiting until the dvd to see though.

I feel like most of these will probably wind up waiting til DVD, but that's not so bad because things come out so fast these days.
