I think I found my soulmate.

I am absolutely crazy head-over-heels in love. The new fm 104one is the most amazing thing I've ever heard in my entire life. I can't believe it's not satellite or HD radio. Just regular FM. Okay, so let me give you a little background for those of you who don't live in Connecticut.

Once upon a time there was a modern rock radio station in Hartford called Radio 104. It wasn't the best radio station, but they put on good concerts and it was really the only rock station in CT that wasn't hard rock or classic rock. And they had Dee Snider. And then they fired Dee Snider. And that was the beginning of the end. One morning all the rocker children in Connecticut woke up and turned on their radios only to find that, overnight, without any notice or warning, Radio 104 had been turned into a Rap/Hip-Hop station by TPTB. There was outrage and confusion and eventually acceptance. Until one day, about three weeks ago, rock music magically returned to 104.1FM. I blasted my stereo and did a dance of joy.

Well today was the first time I really got to sit down and listen to it and I fell so hard and so fast. This is the best collection of music I've heard on a single radio station ever. And there are very few commercials and no jocks! No talking! All music! AND IT'S THE BEST MUSIC EVER... Third Eye Blind, Chevelle, Eve 6, Bush, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Beck, Elvis Costello, Fat Boy Slim, Reel Big Fish, Boys Like Girls, Fuel, Blink-182, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, The Ataris, Oasis, SR-71... sd8oq3uerDFDSfidjFksnvhfiueSJKAFsdv! MY MIND IS GOING TO EXPLODE WITH HOW INCREDIBLE THIS IS! They don't discriminate it's just all wonderful rock... all different kinds of rock and all of it AMAZING and in one place. Seriously, I want to marry this radio station.

Grey's is coming on. Later, skaterz.

Dee Snider! You mean his House of Hair? Because I used to always listen to that with my dad.

I guess I'm spoiled; I've always had an alt rock or whatever station. I didn't know that other people didn't. I feel bad now, they're so deprived.

Nope, he was a local jock here in CT, just on 104.

I would get Radio 104 over the sound on Long Island and it was the most decent rock station that I could get, I preferred it to KROCK. That's cool that they're back, I loved the 5 bands for 5 bucks show, even though I only went to the one with Sugarcult, Seether, SR-71 and Bowling For Soup (and a local band), haha. But why are they playing so much old rock that nobody cares about anymore? Radio is still terrible.

That concert was one of the best I've ever been to. It's not really the same group, but we'll see if any good shows come out of it.

omg now I really wish I got 104 down here... that is like the best mix of music ever. maybe 104 fest will come back too??

You can listen to it streaming on the web. www.1041music.com

And some of my best summer memories were Radio 104 fest... they're not the same radio station, and they're very clear about that, but maybe some good concerts will still come of it.

Moments like these I miss having a radio in my car. *sigh*

I miss Dee Snider like whoa, he was so cool.

your car has no radio? tell me you at least have a CD player or something!

No, sadly. I stick my iPod in one ear and rock that everywhere. My dad, in his attempt to install my CD player/Radio deal, shortcircuited the whole thing. So none of it works. And I'm so not paying to get it fixed when I wasn't even the one to break it.

Ooh, pretty icon.

i am so thrilled that 104 is back on the air :) the first couple weeks were sort of meh, they played a lot of like weird 90s rock but they seem to be moving in a really good direction

Yeah, it was odd at first, but I think they're getting into a good groove.
