No day but today.

So I guess this is my first legitimate and non-cryptic post of 2004. First off, New Year's Eve was a blast and I had a great time even though I had the worst night's sleep of my entire life thanks to drinking too much wine and my fucking wisdom teeth. And of course there were people irritating the crap out of me. But other than that... awesome time. Despite my utter exhaustion the next day, I went to the Hippodrome for one last hurrah with Kristina before she headed off to France. It wound up being more fun than I thought it would be, and it was great hanging out with her afterward. I'm going to miss her... hopefully I'll see her sooner than July. Monday I went into NYC with Amie, Eric, Matt, Courtney, Jennifer, Mary, Joe, Garrett, Megan, and Raechel. The weather looked pretty dismal at first, but it wasn't so bad by the time we got there around 1:30. Tragedy struck early when I realized that I'd left my new hat and scarf on the train. Luckily Matt and I were able to catch the train before it left again and get them back. I was relieved and grateful. We got lunch at a small little pizza place. It was really really good. Yummy NY pizza. After that we made our way to Times Square and played around in Toys R Us. I love that store... it's really the most fun place ever. "I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid..." Anyway, we went over to Rockefeller Center after that and poked around there for a while. The tree was definitely more beautiful than the last time I saw it. I was glad it was still up. After that we walked allllll the way to FAO Schwartz which I must say was a huge disappointment because they are going out of business, so there was like nothing left in the store. Toys R Us was far cooler. On our way back we stopped at Tiffany & Co. I have never seened anything more beautiful than those diamonds. They sparkled and glistened and it was breath taking. They were almost blinding they were so radiant. I don't care how small my engagement ring is (that is if anyone would ever be crazy enough to ask me to marry them) but I want it to sparkle like the ones I saw on Monday. On our way to get dinner, Matt, Raechel and I took a small detour to a music shop. There was a cat there who was in love with my scarf. It kept attacking my arm and needless to say became rather attached to me. I love kitty cats. Anyway, we ate dinner at Planet Hollywood. I've never been to a Planet Hollywood before, but I definitely think the food and the decor was better than any Hard Rock Cafe I've ever been to. The coolest thing was that Matthew Goode, this new up and coming actor who is starring alongside Mandy Moore <3 in Chasing Liberty, was at the resturaunt! There were paparazzi and everything! It was very Hollywood. Other than that, our waiter hated us and Joe stole the centerpiece from the table, which probably made the waiter hate us even more when he realized. From Planet Hollywood we booked it to the show. Our seats were great as far as I'm concerned. It's really impossible to have bad seats in theatres like that though. Another awesome thing? Yeah, they didn't card at the bar in the theatre. That's right. I was served. hehe So exciting. But right, the play. So incredibly phenomenal. I was floored at how much more amazing the play was on Broadway than off. I got teary eyed more than once during the first act and was flat out crying for most of the second. Maureen and Angel were fantastic, so were Roger and Collins and Maureen. Mimi's voice was too low, I thought, and Mark took a few too many liberties in straying from how the original show sounded which I didn't much care for. But still, I can die happy now because I've seen Rent on Broadway. The show got out sooner than we expected so we poked around for a while. We went in the Quicksilver store!! That was so exciting! I bought a new wallet and a zip up sweatshirt. :-D I <3 Roxy. We also stopped at the gift shop for the Bubba Gump Shrimp resturaunt. Half the group was going to go back to Toys R Us since it was fairly apparent we weren't going to make the 11:17 train at that point, but it was closed. The other of of us (me, Joe, Matt, Raechel, and Megan) really wanted shrimp, so we split up. They headed back for the train station and we went into the resturaunt. First off, the place was wicked cool all sorts of stuff from the Forrest Gump movie was all over the place. It was sweet. Second, our waiter was awesome. We flat out told him that we weren't 21 and he served us anyway! He is my new favourite waiter of all time. Third, the food was delicious. I had coconut shrimp. <3 Lucious, lucious coconut shrimp. But yeah, we were supposed to meet back at Grand Central at 12:00, so at like 11:55 we were like, "shit" and I had to chug the rest of my margarita. So needless to say that by the time we got to the station, I was cocked. It made for a slightly more interesting ride home. Raechel was nice enough to drive back to Manchester, where we all left from. It was a really great day, and I was scared that people weren't going to have fun, but I think everyone did. Successs! I don't think I've mentioned, but I did get a new digital camera, so once I get back to school (and am not limited by my sloth-like dial up modem) I'll post pictures of everything. I thought this journal entry would be a lot longer than it is, but I guess it's just as well that it's not because I should probably go to bed. I haven't packed anything yet, either which means even less sleep that I'll be getting. Oh yeah, by the way, I'm going to New Hampshire tomorrow with a Joe and some other brothers to ski for the weekend. I'll be back Sunday night, but only to work at the Too. Monday is my day to recoup and pack yet again, but this time for warmer weather. Yeah, Matt and I are taking off for the Carribean and won't be back until the 17th. Don't miss me too much. See you guys when I get back to school. Later, skaterz.
