So I've been meaning to do this for a while, just never got around to it. I'm a nerdy market researcher, so I thought it might be fun to get a demopgrahic profile of my friends list. Some of the questions get kind of personal, so feel free to select "prefer not to answer" or just skip that question. Hopefully I don't offend anyone, I tried to make it somewhat international-friendly!

I hate the religion question. I wish there was an option of "none" since I don't know if I'm atheist or agnostic, so I guess I could say other but that just makes me think that I have some other religious beliefs when I just don't believe strongly one way or the other. So I never really know what to check haha.

I think the same, I would say I was agnostic verging on athiest, seing as the fact that I consider agnosticism means that at least a small part of me entertains that concept of there being a God, so by that I would put agnosticism slightly higher. But a none box would be lovely.

I always think anarchy when I see atheist for some reason (the two words beginning with the same letter is enough confusion for me! haha) so I'm like well I'm definitely not atheist... oh wait, haha.

See, I always kind of took agnosticism to mean that you weren't sure what you believed, but looking it up I see the difference now.

I agree a Not sure or none would've been a good add.

The first 6 questions are straight out of every survey I was in charge of keeping track of at my old job. The young, white, male, college graduate demographic was always the hardest to keep on the phone. (The irony!)

Yeah, we're always hurting for young males. They're the hardest group to get. :)

That was fun. I love filling out random surveys.

But one thing: for the sexual orientation question, I said 'Prefer not to say' just because Asexual wasn't on the list.

And I just want to thank you for allowing us to have the option of choosing MULTIPLE boxes for the race question. On so many forms, especially job applications, we can only check one, which makes me feel confused, being a mutt.

Race is always a multipunch question in our surveys at work. We usually ask Hispanic separately, too.

I picked "other" in religion, but honestly, I'm not religious. Very spiritual, absolutely, but not a specific set. I prefer to take the bits from studied religions that speak to me and shape around my life.

*grins* Well, you know, I'm taking a religions course, so talkign about it comes easy. But yes, I think it best to explain. If I could find a religion I liked, I'd totally stick. I kind of like Episcopalian, but I'm not that big on major churches.

These days, a lot of me feels like I am part of the Catholic church because it's what I know, it was what I was raised with, its what feels comfortable and gives me comfort, more than it's because I support their doctrines. Which I think I'm okay with, if that's the case.

And I see, I grew up between Episcopalian and Baptist churches (but not Southern Baptist) with visits to quite a few in between. Nothing ever...fit, if that makes sense. I never felt like I belonged. The closest would be Episcopalian, but that's a long way different from comfort, more like less likely to run screaming from the church. Hence the hodge podge approach.

I didn't know whether to put "prefer not to answer" or "other" for religion so I guess I'll expain. Basically I was raised Catholic and I still go to church once in a blue moon. But as much as I have faith in God and Jesus, there are SO MANY things about the Catholic religion that I don't really agree with. So while I wouldn't dub myself agnostic, I'm currently in the process of finding a religion I relate more to. I once heard something about a Christian Paganism and that intrigued me, so maybe I'll look into that. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.
